About The AMPLIFIRES
With the true sound of Rock N Roll falling by the wayside in today's music scene Southern California's THE AMPLIFIRES have burst onto the scene to revive rock music before its to late. The band formed in 2004 out of the dismemberment of The DC Special and the band members' mutual love and respect for all things rock-America and beyond. The band cites its influences as ranging from The MC5 to Thin Lizzy to Iggy Pop and the Stooges to Swedish icons The Hellacopters. Combining the blistering guitar antics of Dana Amplifire and Kris66 with Greg's powerful drums and Stevie Free's thundering bass the unit has solidified itself to allow the vocal talents of Tommy Wildfire to shine. Together on stage the band appears to have been together for ages as they perform as a solid unit that allows the strength of each member to shine. Fallowing the bands formation it took them a mere three months to write material and book there first gig at the University of Redlands in California alongside none other than CKY and Zebrahead. SInce then the gigs alongside notable acts have continued to flow and the list has come to include Backyard Babies, Bad Wizard, The Chelsea Smiles, Eddie and the Hot Rods, Nebula, and The Superbees. With other bands clearly taking notice it drew the attention of Skinnie Magazine which named The Amplifires to their Top 25 Unsigned Bands List. With the hype continuing to grow its only a matter of time until The Amplifires are joining "Top 25" lists around the country and bringing the Rock N Roll Revolution your way!
